Biography

Born in 1985, and raised in Albuquerque, Rehnberg's formal art education includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the College of Santa Fe (2007), where she explored a wide range of disciplines, from studio arts and art history to creative writing, psychology, philosophy, and mythology. Her work has been featured in numerous exhibitions since the age of 15 and has appeared in publications such as American Art Collector.

Beyond her personal artistic practice, Rehnberg is a significant presence in the art world. Her experience includes working in galleries in Taos, Santa Fe, and Albuquerque, contributing to national art fairs, and curating numerous exhibitions, including pop-up shows and monthly rotations for Artisan ABQ, which helped establish what is now 3017 Gallery. She has worked with both emerging and internationally renowned artists and currently holds a gallery associate position at Gallery Hozho at Hotel Chaco.

Rehnberg was born with Holt-Oram Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that affects the development of the heart, hands, and upper limbs. She views this challenge not as a limitation, but as a source of strength and inspiration. Encouraged by her parents to use art to improve her dexterity, she discovered its power as a tool for overcoming physical difficulties. Her unique perspective has shaped her creative path, allowing her to see her "difference" as a gift.

Artist Statement
Angie Rehnbergs’s vibrant and evocative works explore the intersection of nature, memory, and the ephemeral. Through layered textures and a bold, colorful palette, she creates pieces that invite viewers to pause and connect with the subtle beauty of the everyday. Her intuitive process often begins with a fleeting impression or a loose idea, evolving organically through the act of painting. Rehnberg's work often incorporates elements of abstraction, encouraging viewers to bring their own interpretations and experiences to the canvas. Whether capturing the play of light on a desert landscape, the intricacies of a blooming flower, or the spirit of an animal, her art reflects a deep appreciation for the natural world and its inherent power to inspire.
