Artist Statement
I am a native New Mexican and an educator and artist. I studied at the University of New Mexico and Rhode Island School of Design. I taught art and art history at Albuquerque Academy and then in Jordan and Cameroon in central Africa.
My work encompasses both representational and abstract images. The work shown here includes a still life series coming out of the pandemic. In these, I seek to illuminate the psychological complexities of the seemingly ordinary. The objects appear alone and become to some degree charged with presence.
