Artist Statement

Claudia’s life has always been informed by art. Retirement to Whidbey Island, WA afforded her the opportunity to seriously pursue her interest. In 2017 she began a diligent atelier-style study of oil painting at Whidbey Island Fine Art Studio. In 2020 she began showing her work at Rob Schouten Gallery in Langley, WA. Moving to Sandia Heights in January 2022, she is now inspired and challenged by the colors and atmosphere of New Mexico.

Her work is a continual series of experimentations and discoveries. Her goal is to see and interpret the beauty that surrounds us and capture her vision in oils.
