Dana fell in love with photography the first time she picked up her mother’s camera at age five and she purchased her own first camera at age ten. She has studied photography and painting at UNM, The Santa Fe Photography Workshop, and other venues.

For many years Dana concentrated on black and white portraiture and event photography, but in the last decade, with the improvements in digital cameras, she has been letting go of her self-imposed traditional bounds. She now works in both black and white and color, and utilizes different printing media, as she pursues her own creative visions in photography.

Dana shows yearly in the Placitas Studio Tour and the Placitas Holiday Sale. Her work has also been in the InSight Women’s Photography Exhibit and other local shows in Albuquerque and Placitas. Dana is on the board of the Placitas Holiday Sale and, with thirteen other artists, she helped found the Placitas artist collaborative, Wild Hearts Gallery, in 2018.

Photography has been an integral part of Dana's life for over 40 years and it becomes more so each year.
