Escribiente, Albuquerque’s Calligraphy Society, is delighted to display a special collection of calligraphic art showcasing a diversity of styles and techniques, from delicate pointed pen lettering to abstract mixed media and 3D cut letters.

Members participating in The Art of Healing include: Beth House, Caryl McHarney, Elizabeth McKee, Janice Gabel, Kathy Chilton, Patty Hammarstedt, Trish Meyer and Vicki Bolen.

Escribiente members also enjoy using our calligraphic skills to give back to the community. Because of COVID19, we sadly won't be able to provide custoized calligraphy this year. We're looking forward to 2021!

Albuquerque’s Calligraphic Society was founded in April, 1978. We are a lively, congenial group open to anyone interested in the fine art of beautiful lettering. We hold regular meetings at Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center featuring an informative program for all levels of calligraphy, including speakers, hands-on projects, social time to meet other calligraphers, and generally a good learning atmosphere. Everyone with an interest in creating beautiful letters is welcome!

In addition to local classes for beginners, we also offer two workshops each year taught by national and international instructors.
