Born, raised, and forever at home in New Mexico, I work primarily in micro-miniature, miniature, and small work watercolor. The unique nature of miniature art first appeared in the 1500s. The tiny artwork pieces were personal, palm-sized or smaller, fully rendered in concept, color, and detail (representative of style), and often presented unframed.
I have recently begun working in a new process of watercolor on prepared, stretched canvas, and finished with a cold wax archival process (first used in the 1700s on cave paintings and now accepted by most national watercolor societies).
I explore diverse themes in a variety of styles, but my primary objective is always to capture reflection and create joy. Reflection refers to the fleeting glimpses of accidents of atmosphere, while joy to me is when the viewer looks at my work little longer, considers it bit further, and walks away uplifted.
