After moving to the US from the Russia in 2004 she adjusted to American life as a student, connecting with her newly adopted culture through drawing, painting, and computer design. She pursued a certificate in Digital Media as a graphic designer and started her new career in this field.

Landscapes, animals, figurative and intuitive paintings are her favorite things to paint. She studied to paint with Masters as David Mayer, Peter Nisbet, Leo Neufeld, Albert Handell, Paul Murray, Elena Goubar and many other.

Vera Neel exhibited her palette knife oil paintings in many New Mexico venues including the Taos Art Collective gallery. She was also an exhibitor in the different jury Art Festivals in Albuquerque, !Encantada! and New Mexico Masterwork Art show 2014 and 2015. At Twentieth Annual MasterWorks of New Mexico 2018 Mrs. Neel got Carol Bryan Award for Creativity for painting "Dreams of a Carnival.” In 2019 her painting "Motherland" was chosen for display at the salon in the category Independent Artist in the Grand Palaise in Paris (France).

Mrs. Neel is a member Rio Grande Art Association, New Mexico Art League, Artist’s Round Town group, Rio Rancho Art association.
