Judith won a blue ribbon in first grade for an eraser drawing of a bird. That early recognition was all the encouragement she needed to pursue art. As the middle daughter in a family of “makers”, she grew up on an apiary in the lovely northern mountains of Wyoming where she was free to wander riding horses, making forts and finding adventures on her bike.

Her childhood adventures in Wyoming fostered a spirit of creativity that she carried into adulthood. Judith taught special education students for a while. However, after a powerful series of dreams she followed her heart into the art world. She started a small business called Leopard’s Leap after the first animal that appeared in those life-changing dreams. Judith is now known for her unique and intricately crafted masks, often inspired by nature and mythology.  Judith ended up renting an art studio at the Harwood Art Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her creativity thrived in this nurturing environment surrounded by like-minded artists. For many years, she found outlets for her creations at Art Fairs, Festivals and Sci-Fi Conventions both locally and nationally.

In 2000, Judith’s artistry caught the attention of Cirque du Soleil, leading to an 18-year collaboration supplying wearable masks for their global retail market. She also created masks for the Doge’s ball in Venice, Italy, in addition to producing 450 pieces for Dolce and Gabbana for one of their Venetian parties.

In addition to masks and headpieces, Judith also creates jewelry, fantasy clothing, clay sculptures and watercolor paintings. For Judith, creating art is as natural as breathing - a source of peace and joy where the outside world fades away. Judith takes to her creative life like a dragon to air and a mermaid to water.
