Linda Boyes is a studio glass artist working in kiln-formed glass fused as her sole medium. Although her love of glass has been life long, her hands-on fused glass work began in 2009. She studied with local and national glass art masters in the West. She is a retired nurse who now works and teaches full-time in her studio which is located in the North Valley, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her life experiences and detail oriented background, intuitiveness; creativity and love of contemporary art and the southwest are expressed in her glass art. Her work ranges from wall art, sculptures, bowls, dishes and platters to vessels, and table art. More recently, she designs fused glass vessel sinks. Her style is diverse, ranging from contemporary, Southwest contemporary to uniquely traditional.
Her work is currently being shown in her Albuquerque Studio, Studio Art Tours, Weems Gallery in Albuquerque, and Chere Waters Gallery in Creede, Colorado. She participates in local art shows and studio tours. She is a member of the Corrales Art Society.
Artist Statement
I love glass and creating beautiful, colorful pieces of fused glass wall art, table art, vessels, bowls, platters, and dishes and fused Glass Vessel Sinks. Creating fused glass art that is both functional and uniquely different is my passion.
My ideas come from nature, living in the southwest, and simply intuitive from life experiences. I experiment constantly and incorporate pattern bars, unique designs, copper, and other elements into my work. This, for me, has been a spiritual, educational, social and artistic journey for which I am truly humbled and grateful.
