Artist Statement
Painting, drawing and making art have been part of my life as long as I can remember. After graduating with a degree in art from Eastern New Mexico University I worked as a commercial artist before becoming an art teacher - first in the Panama Canal Zone, then Albuquerque Public Schools. Now that I am retired, I paint full time.
Watercolor is my medium of choice. Currently foliage, flowers and cacti from the Southwest are my favorite subject matters. I am a signature member with the New Mexico Watercolor Society. My work has been displayed in galleries and multiple shows throughout the Southwest. A have won first place at Expo New Mexico and awards at Masterworks and New Mexico Watercolor Society shows.
