I was born and raised in California. I received a degree in design from San Jose State University and an MA from the University of New Mexico. I taught Art in Albuquerque Public Schools for 31 years. I also taught for CNM, The Albuquerque Museum of Art, UNM Continuing Education, and the College of Santa Fe and Central New Mexico Correctional Facility.

I am both a photographer and painter, although the last few years I have settled into painting. I am working on a series of dogs and cats in vintage cars and trucks in southwest landscapes with stylized backgrounds.

For many years I worked as an airbrush artist doing cars photo realistically. Now I paint the cars and trucks with a brush. I also inject the paintings with humor, sometimes allowing the animals to drive, have human names, and have friends.

I began painting animals to entertain myself but have learned how much people love their pets! I like to see both children’s and adult’s happiness when viewing my work. Many of my pets are featured: my Belgian sheepdogs, tuxedo cat, tortoiseshell, and others. My animals bring me, and others joy with their quirky personalities.

The secret to a happy life is having a pet and keeping a sense of humor.
