Biography
I am an oil painter living working in Albuquerque New Mexico. My artistic journey began late in life, at the age of 55 when I began taking art classes at CNM. I've furthered my arts education at the NM Art League. My near obsessive drive to create is fulfilled through oil painting, drawing and hand-built ceramics.
Artist Statement
I explore both traditional and modern expressions of classical still life subjects using the old masters’ techniques of building color and form through multiple transparent layers of oil paint.
I’m attracted to shiny objects, bright colors and full round shapes. This attraction is expressed through simple realistic paintings often featuring food, dishware, flowers, animals and other beautiful objects.
